Dunkle Bio-Schokolade aus Fair-Trade gehandeltem Forastero-Kakao von der Plantage Domaine Monts de la lune, Mutwanga, North Kivu Province, Demokratische Republik Kongo.

Zwischen der ostafrikanischen Savanne und den weiten Regenwäldern in der kongolesischen Tiefebene liegen die Ruwenzori-Gebirge und der Virungo National Park. Die hier im östlichen Teil der Demokratischen Republik Kongo gelegene Plantage „Domaine Monts de la lune“ baut entlang der Hänge der Berge Forastero-Kakao an. Dieser Kakao wird hier in Mischkulturen und im Schatten anderer Bäume kultiviert. Unmittelbar nach der Ernte wird der Kakao einem mehrtägigen Fermentationsprozess zugeführt und anschließend an der Sonne getrocknet. Dieser Kakao zeichnet sich durch seine Milde und sein nussig-fruchtiges Aroma aus.
